ShellyBeach is a natural bottom substrate for marine and alkaline freshwater aquariums, such as African Cichlid habitats, providing calcium carbonate buffering and an aesthetically appealing look. The fine size of ShellyBeach and naturally porous structure provides a high surface area for biological filtration too. ShellyBeach slowly dissolves in freshwater aquariums, helping to maintain an alkaline condition ideal for African Cichlids.
